How to organize a PDF

1. Drop in a PDF. Every page appears as a thumbnail, numbered in its current order.
2. Drag a page to where it belongs, or use the arrows under it. Use the rotate button to turn a page a quarter turn, and the bin to remove it.
3. Need more pages? Add PDF puts another file's pages at the end, ready to drag into place, and the plus button inserts a blank page.
4. Press Save PDF and download. The file keeps its original name, so report.pdf comes back as report.pdf.

Nothing is re-drawn

Organizing does not turn your pages into pictures. Each page is copied into the new file exactly as it was, with its text, fonts, links and images untouched, so the result is as sharp and as searchable as the original. A rotation is stored as the page's rotation setting, the same thing Acrobat changes, so it costs nothing in quality and can be turned back later.

Because pages are copied rather than rebuilt, the file usually ends up about the size of the pages you kept. Deleting half the pages of a scan roughly halves its size; to go further, run it through Compress PDF afterwards.

Typical jobs

• Fixing a scan. Feeders often pull pages out of order or upside down. Rotate the odd ones and drag them back.
• Trimming before you send. Remove the cover sheet, the blank backs of double-sided scans or the pages a reader should not see.
• Building one document from several. Add a signed page from another PDF and drop it in the right place, without a separate merge step.
• Printing booklets. Insert blank pages so chapters start on a right-hand page.

Limits worth knowing

• Password-protected PDFs cannot be opened until the password is removed. Use Unlock PDF first if you know it.
• Bookmarks and form fields that point at pages are not carried over, because the page order they describe no longer exists. The page content itself is unchanged.
• Very large files (several hundred pages) take a little while to show every thumbnail, since each one is drawn on your device. You can start rearranging while they load.

Privacy

The PDF is opened, previewed and rebuilt by your own browser. It is never uploaded to our server or anyone else's, which matters for contracts, statements and ID documents.

Will rotating or reordering pages reduce quality?

No. Pages are copied into the new PDF unchanged, and rotation is stored as a page setting, so nothing is re-rendered or re-compressed.

Can I combine pages from two PDFs?

Yes. Press Add PDF to bring in another file. Its pages appear at the end, and you can drag them anywhere in the document.

How do I delete pages from a PDF?

Press the bin button under each page you want gone, then Save PDF. The page count above the grid shows how many pages you are keeping.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes. Dragging may not work in every mobile browser, so each page also has left and right arrows to move it one place at a time.

Is my PDF uploaded?

No. Everything happens in your browser, and the file never leaves your device.
