PDF to PPT Online Free
Turn a PDF into a PowerPoint deck with one slide per page and text you can edit, laid out just like the original. The conversion happens in your browser, so the file is never uploaded.
About this tool
How to convert a PDF to PowerPoint
- Drop in the PDF.
- Press Convert. A counter shows each slide as it is built.
- Download the .pptx and open it in PowerPoint, Google Slides or Keynote.
The download keeps your file's name, so seminar.pdf comes back as seminar.pptx.
What becomes editable
The tool takes each page apart into the pieces PowerPoint itself is made of. A ruled layout, like the grid of an invoice, challan or statement, is rebuilt as a real PowerPoint table: the rules become cell borders, shaded boxes become cell colours, boxes that span several columns become merged cells, and every line of text goes into the cell it sat in, in the same font, size, weight, colour and alignment. Click into a cell and type, add a row, or drag a column wider, exactly as with a table you made yourself.
Text outside a table becomes a normal text box at its original position, and any other straight line or rectangle becomes a shape you can select, move, recolour or delete. Every piece is lined up with the original to within a pixel or two.
Photos, logos and anything drawn with curves cannot be turned into simple shapes, so each one becomes its own picture, cut to size and placed where it was. When a page has none of those, there is no picture on the slide at all.
Two limits are worth knowing. Tables are found from their ruled lines, so a table laid out with spacing alone, with no lines between the cells, arrives as text boxes instead; and two rules that almost meet (within a couple of points) are treated as one edge. A font the PDF uses that your computer does not have is swapped for the closest standard one (Arial, Times New Roman, Courier New and so on), and the letter spacing is adjusted so each line keeps its original width.
The deck takes the shape of the first page. A landscape PDF exported from PowerPoint gives a normal widescreen deck; a portrait A4 document gives tall slides. Pages of a different shape are centred on the slide rather than stretched.
When this is the right tool
- Someone sent you their presentation as a PDF and you need to fix a figure or a typo before presenting it.
- You want to add your own slides before or after a PDF report, or reorder its pages.
- You need to present a document page by page, with notes in front of you.
If you only need the text out of the PDF, a text extraction is quicker. If the PDF is locked, remove the password first with Unlock PDF.
Privacy
The PDF is opened and rendered by your own browser using pdf.js, the same engine Firefox uses to show PDFs, and the PowerPoint file is assembled on your device. No copy of your document is sent to our server or anyone else's. Large PDFs take longer on older phones because all the work happens locally.
Frequently asked questions
Are tables converted to real PowerPoint tables?
Yes, when the PDF draws them with lines. The grid becomes a PowerPoint table with merged cells, borders and cell colours, and the text sits inside the cells, so you can edit it like any table.
Can I edit the text and the lines?
Yes. Text outside tables is a normal text box, and every other straight line and box is a shape you can select, move, recolour or delete.
Will the slides look the same as the PDF?
Very close. Positions match to within a pixel or two; the only visible differences come from fonts your computer does not have, which are replaced with the nearest standard font.
Does it work with scanned PDFs?
A scanned page becomes a slide, but its words are part of the scan, so there is no text to make editable. The tool tells you when it finds no text.
Is there a page limit?
No fixed limit. Very long PDFs (a few hundred pages) produce a large file and can run out of memory on a phone, so convert those on a computer.
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. The conversion runs entirely in your browser and the file never leaves your device.
