PPT to PDF Online Free

Turn a PowerPoint presentation into a PDF with one page per slide, looking the way it does in PowerPoint. The conversion happens in your browser, so the file is never uploaded.

About this tool

How to convert PowerPoint to PDF

  1. Drop in a .pptx file.
  2. Press Convert. A counter shows each slide as it is drawn.
  3. Download the PDF. It keeps your file's name, so pitch.pptx comes back as pitch.pdf.

What comes through

Each slide becomes one page of the PDF at the slide's own size, so a widescreen deck gives widescreen pages and an A4 handout gives A4 pages. The slide is laid out from the presentation itself: its theme, backgrounds, text with its fonts, sizes and colours, bullet lists, shapes and arrows, tables, pictures and charts, all in their places.

Every finished slide is drawn at high resolution into the PDF, with an invisible copy of its text laid exactly over the words. The PDF looks like the slides, and you can still search it and copy text from it, which helps when you send a deck to someone who needs to quote a figure from it.

Why send a PDF instead of the PowerPoint file

  • It opens the same on every phone and computer, with no PowerPoint needed and no missing fonts.
  • Nobody can accidentally move a box or delete a slide.
  • Upload forms, college portals and email clients that reject .pptx accept PDF.

Limits worth knowing

  • Old .ppt files (PowerPoint 97 to 2003) are not supported. Open them in PowerPoint and save as .pptx first.
  • Animations, transitions and videos do not carry into a PDF; each slide is shown in its finished state.
  • Fonts that are not installed on your computer are replaced with a similar one, and very complex slides with SmartArt or unusual effects can differ slightly from PowerPoint.
  • Safari on iPhone and Mac blocks the slide drawing this tool relies on. Use Chrome, Edge or Firefox.

Need the slides back as editable PowerPoint later? PDF to PPT rebuilds a PDF as editable slides. To shrink the PDF for an upload limit, use Compress PDF.

Privacy

The presentation is opened and laid out by your own browser, and the PDF is written on your device. No copy is sent to our server or anyone else's.

Frequently asked questions

Will the PDF look the same as my slides?

Very close for ordinary decks: text, shapes, tables, pictures and charts stay in place. Fonts you do not have installed and very complex effects are where small differences appear.

Can I search and copy text in the PDF?

Yes. Every page carries an invisible text layer over the words, so search, select and copy all work.

Does it keep animations?

No. A PDF is a set of still pages, so each slide appears in its finished state.

Does it work with .ppt files?

No, only .pptx. Open an old .ppt file in PowerPoint and use Save As to make a .pptx, then convert that.

Is my presentation uploaded?

No. The conversion runs entirely in your browser and the file never leaves your device.
